All three of the pyramids were built by ancient Egyptian pharaohs, Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, and were constructed as sacred burial complexes.
While none of the other ancient wonders are still standing, you can still visit the areas in which they once stood. As examples, you may want to visit the ruins of the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus or the spot where the towering Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. The site of the lighthouse is located in Egypt and well worth visiting if you choose to visit the pyramids.

There are seven modern wonders of the world that are well worth adding to your bucket list. They are the Great Wall of China, Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu, Christ the Redeemer, the Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, and Petra. All of which are well worth visiting.
If you want to visit the greatest man-made wonders of the world, make sure to visit the Great Wall of China which is one of the largest man-made structures in the world as well as Christ the Redeemer which looks over Rio de Janeiro, the Colosseum in Rome and the Taj Mahal. If you like exploring exotic destinations and are not afraid to stray off the beaten tourist track also make sure to visit Petra and an ancient city which is famous for its caves.
